Shift Management

Shift Management provides an advanced, full-screen interface for managing shift-based transportation services. While the Shifts page allows you to create and edit shifts, Shift Management focuses on real-time service operations and employee assignments within each shift.

What is Shift Management?

Shift Management is a comprehensive view that combines:

  • Shift information and timing
  • Associated pickup and drop-off services
  • Employee assignments and distribution
  • Route visualization and optimization
  • Real-time service status

Accessing Shift Management

  1. Click Shift Management in the main navigation
  2. You'll see a list of all shifts on the left side
  3. Select a shift to view its full details on the right

Note: The Shift Management feature requires shift access permissions.

Understanding the Interface

Master-Detail Layout

Shift Management uses a master-detail layout:

  • Left Panel: List of all shifts with key information
  • Right Panel: Full details of the selected shift

Shift List Columns

The shift list displays:

Column Description
Client The company associated with the shift
Day The day of the week for this shift
Name The shift's descriptive name
Description Additional details about the shift
Number of Personnel Count of employees registered for the shift
Service Arrival Time When shuttles should arrive at the company
Service Leave Time When shuttles depart from the company

Shift Details Panel

When you select a shift, you'll see:

Shift Information

  • Shift name and date
  • Company information
  • Service timing details
  • Quick action buttons

Service Analyzer

The Service Analyzer provides:

  • List of pickup services for the shift
  • List of drop-off services for the shift
  • Employee distribution across services
  • Route map visualization
  • Service optimization tools

Working with Shift Services

Pickup Services (Get On)

Services that collect employees and bring them to work:

  • Organized by the shift's arrival time
  • Shows employees assigned to each service
  • Displays route and stop information
  • Filtered by the shift date

Drop-off Services (Get Off)

Services that take employees home after work:

  • Organized by the shift's leave time
  • Shows return route information
  • Displays expected drop-off times

Service Filtering

Services are automatically filtered by:

  • The selected shift
  • The service type (pickup vs. drop-off)
  • The shift date (calculated from the shift day)

Employee Management

Viewing Employees

See all employees registered for the shift:

  • Employee names and contact information
  • Assigned service for each employee
  • Pickup/drop-off locations
  • Special requirements or notes

Assigning Employees to Services

  1. Select a shift from the list
  2. View the available services
  3. Drag and drop employees to assign them
  4. Or use the assignment interface to select employees

Unassigned Employees

The system highlights:

  • Employees registered for the shift but not assigned to a service
  • Employees with incomplete information
  • Any assignment conflicts

Route Visualization

Map Features

The Shift Management map shows:

  • All pickup/drop-off locations
  • Current service routes
  • Employee clusters
  • Company destination

Route Optimization

Optimize routes directly from this interface:

  1. Select a service
  2. Click the optimize button
  3. Review the suggested route
  4. Apply changes

Daily Operations

Use Shift Management for:

  • Morning check of today's shifts
  • Verifying employee assignments
  • Last-minute route adjustments
  • Monitoring service status

Before Each Shift

  1. Open Shift Management
  2. Select the relevant shift
  3. Review employee assignments
  4. Check for unassigned employees
  5. Verify route completeness

Troubleshooting Assignments

If employees are missing from services:

  • Check if they're registered for the shift
  • Verify their profile is complete
  • Ensure they have valid addresses
  • Assign them manually if needed

Common Issues

"No services showing for shift"

  • Verify shift-based services have been created
  • Check the shift date is correct
  • Ensure services are linked to the right shift

"Employee not appearing in shift"

  • Check employee has shift access enabled
  • Verify they're registered for this shift
  • Confirm their status is active

"Services from different dates appearing"

  • The system filters by shift date
  • Verify the shift day configuration
  • Check if multiple shifts exist for the same day

Automatic Updates

Shift Management data updates automatically:

  • Employee registrations sync in real-time
  • Service changes are reflected immediately
  • Route optimizations are applied instantly

Note: Some data may take up to 60 seconds to sync. Refresh the page if you need immediate updates.
